Banish Frustration and Downtime with XLMOTO Motorcycle Bolts and Washers

Most nuts and bolts on a motorcycle remain untouched for 1000s of kilometres. From a reliability standpoint, this is good news. However, for motorcycle maintenance, untouched fasteners are difficult to remove. Corrosion can make a motorcycle bolt, nut, or screw challenging to remove, often damaging the head or thread. The XLMOTO range of motorcycle nuts and bolts means you'll never have to reuse a worn fastener again. Also, XLMOTO aftermarket motorcycle bolts, nuts and washers exceed factory specifications meaning they'll stay in great shape for longer. As this section covers a variety of fasteners and accessories, putting them into categories makes sense.

Torx screws

At first glance, this screw type appears similar to an Allen screw. As a result, attempting to loosen one using an Allen key often damages the Torx head. This problem is exasperated by manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and BMW, who use Torx and Allen screws near one another. However, there is method in their madness, as a Torx head bolt or screw enables higher torque transmission making it more secure.

Metric hex head bolts

Metric is the most common thread size. So, it's no wonder that every motorcycle currently in production has some, if not all, metric nuts, bolts, and screws holding it together. The XLMOTO range includes multipacks of the most common metric sizes and lengths.

Allen head screws

You will find Allen head screws throughout your motorcycle, and it's easy to see why. The heads offer a smaller profile than a hex head, and you can loosen and tighten them with an Allen key. Here, you'll find standard shape socket head Allen screws and button heads.

Screw kits

If you carry out regular maintenance or work on more than one motorcycle, a screw kit is an excellent addition to your workshop. Screw kits offer a variety of threads and screw lengths. These are conveniently separated into trays.

Nylon rivets

You will need a nylon rivet kit if you own a sports or touring bike or have an aftermarket fairing. Bodywork seldom comes apart without some of the stock rivets deforming. These tough replacement nylon rivets are detachable and reusable. So, the good news is your motorcycle's fairing, and bodywork will always feel solid.

Split pin kits

You will find split pins in places around a motorcycle where extra security is needed. Often, they are in wheel axle nuts and footrests. Split pin kits mean you'll always have a replacement to hand.

Locking ring kit

These circular retaining clips, snap rings, or circlips do the same job. You will often find this type of spring steel clip securing bearings like those you can find on the wheels. These kits cover circlip sizes 6-32 mm.

Copper washer packs

When changing motorcycle oil, you will likely come across a copper washer on the drain plug. Unfortunately, copper is a soft metal, and these washers squash when tightened. For this reason, always use a new copper motorcycle washer when carrying out an oil change.

Gasoline hose couplings and accessories

An increasing number of modern motorcycles require the removal of the gasoline tank, even for simple maintenance tasks. This process stresses the fuel lines. This section includes an impressive range of fuel line accessories, including hose clamps and straight, L and T gasoline hose couplings.

The only thing worse than struggling to remove a corroded fastener is not having an immediate replacement. So, keep frustration and downtime to a minimum. Check out XLMOTO'S range of assorted motorcycle nuts and bolts.
