FAQ's

Let there be Light: Illuminate your Workspace with XLMOTO Garage Lighting

Overhead strip lighting is fine for providing overall illumination to your workspace. However, when working on your motorcycle, a powerful portable light source is optimum. XLMOTO has the answer with one of its flexible multi-positional LED work lights. Wheel your motorbike into the garage for a maintenance session and the first thing you'll notice is the dark shadows around the engine. Overhead garage lighting causes these shadows. So you're going to need a portable localised light source to counteract their effect.

LED Technology

By utilising LED technology, handheld portable LED work lights mean you can get right to the heart of the matter. Due to the intensity of their light, LED work lights can be small enough yet bright enough to illuminate even the smallest of spaces. This capability makes them an ideal source of garage lighting. The great thing about work lights is that you needn't limit them to the garage or workshop. With a fully charged battery, portable LED work light sources are the ultimate in pick up and go illumination. This design makes them ideal for roadside repairs.

Different Types of LED Work Lights

Portable LED work lights are available in all shapes and sizes.

Pit Lights: Auto mechanics use this form of garage lighting when working in inspection pits. They are cylindrical and have a suspension hook on one end. This feature means they are ideal for hanging from handlebars or indicator stems.

Flexible LED Work Lights: With a small light attached to an articulated arm that can bend 360 degrees, losing a nut or bolt in a hard-to-see location is a thing of the past.

Headlight: This headband-mounted light is a helpful addition to any workshop or travel tool kit and leaves both hands free.

Magnetic Work Light: With a strong magnet in the base, these portable LED work lights will attach to your motorcycle's steel parts, such as the frame. These lights are another perfect answer to hands-free maintenance work.

Features to Look for in an LED Work Light

Always check out the power source. Most LED work lights have rechargeable lithium batteries, while others may use replaceable alkaline batteries. If you intend to use the work light as part of a travel tool kit, look for lights that also attach to the bike's battery or use a 12v power socket as their power source. Attachment methods can vary between hooks, magnets or freestanding, or, best of all, a combination of all three. Finally, check the specifications for the 'LM' or Lumen count. The more Lumens, the brighter the light.
