An Illuminating Look at Motorcycle Light Bulbs
Excluding motocross bikes, dirt and dual sport motorcycles require some form of headlight, tail light and indicator lights. As well as being legal requirements, when riding on the road in low light conditions or at night, you need to see and be visible to others, whether it’s a dirt track or paved road.
Motorcycle lights are a necessity, not an accessory. Are you looking to replace Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) units? Or do you want to increase your output with LED motorcycle lights or halogen bulbs? Either way, 24MX will light the way to towards helping you make the best choice.
We all know it’s a good idea to have a basic toolkit when you’re out roosting. Yet, have you ever considered carrying spare bulbs? Off-roading is tough on electrical components. So whether you take a fall or lose a bulb through vibration, a spare is a sensible backup plan.
When checking existing bulbs, you will find a series of numbers and letters printed on them. This code will tell you if your motorcycle has a 6 or 12 Volt system. It will also show you the wattage or amount of power the bulb can take. If in doubt, use the 24MX “part finder” tool to quickly find motorcycle light bulbs to fit your specific make and model of motorcycle.
An extra headlight, tail light and indicator bulb in a small well-cushioned storage box is easy to stash. What’s more, it will make sure you get home safely.
